Septic System Installation

Complete new system installation, from site evaluation to final grading, for residential and commercial properties across Rankin County.

What goes into a new septic installation

A septic installation starts well before the first shovel. The crew evaluates the soil type, the slope of the lot, the water table depth, and the distance from wells and property lines. Mississippi clay and sandy loam behave differently under load and drain at different rates, so the system design needs to match the ground it sits in. A perc test determines how quickly water moves through the soil, which sets the size and type of drain field the property needs.

Once the layout is set, excavation opens the tank pit and the drain field trenches. The tank is placed level, inlet and outlet pipes are connected, and the drain field lines are bedded in gravel at a controlled grade. Backfill goes on in lifts, compacted as it goes, so the surface settles evenly rather than sinking months later. Access risers are brought to grade so future pump-outs do not require digging again.

Lacey's Digging Services installs both stand-alone (conventional gravity-fed) and mound systems. A mound system raises the drain field above the natural grade when the water table is too high or the soil drains too slowly for a conventional field. The choice depends on the site, not on preference. Multiple customer reviews mention the quality of Lacey's installation work, and the team has been doing this job in Mississippi for over 30 years.

After the system is in, the property gets final grading and the yard is left clean. The homeowner receives a walkthrough on how the system works, what goes in and what stays out, and when to schedule the first pump-out.
